FCA is a hybrid school that provides rigorous academics with a biblical worldview. Parents will work with education professionals for their child’s schooling, instruction being divided between campus and home.

Before opening the school, we held an information night for parents. Checkout the PDF of the presentation.

Is a hybrid school merely a co-op with a different name?

No. A hybrid school carries the weight of planning and delivering core instruction for students. A homeschool co-op exists to provide supplemental experiences and teaching for students, but they are generally not intended to provide the core of a student’s education.

Is FCA a private school?

Yes, it is a Private School Satellite Program (PSP) under California State law that has filed an affidavit with the state. However, the reason that FCA is a hybrid is that it has elements of a private school while giving parents much greater involvement in their child’s education compared to a typical school.

What are the benefits of a hybrid school?

The hybrid approach gives students a private school experience when on campus, but gives parents significant involvement in their child’s education. The benefits include:

  • More affordable than private school

  • Consistent biblical worldview taught at school and home

  • Assistance to parents by planning education

  • Qualified teachers to handle the core instruction

  • More parental involvement than a typical private school

  • Curriculum designed for use at school and home

  • Students who benefit from classroom experience with peers

  • There is no vaccine reporting to the state

How much Are students on campus and in class?

Students are on the Foothill Bible Church campus 2 ½ days a week, 9am-2:30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 9am-Noon on Thursday. They work at home for the remainder of the week under the supervision of their parents. The parent is responsible for monitoring the instruction and work at home, not the school. and there is no expectation to track or report on these hours. FCA is a school for homeschooling families, and the state expects families only to keep attendance records. For FCA students, when they return their work, it is evidence of attendance at school while at home.

This year we have a kindergarten class, a 1st/2nd grade class, a 3rd/4th grade class, and a 5th/6th grade class. They all meet on the same days and times. Our class sizes are a maximum of 15 students in kindergarten and 20 students in other classes.
